Billing states
active, grace, read_only and locked, and what each one allows.
Every module in a workspace has a billing state. The store sets it; nobody in the workspace can change it, not even the owner (see invariant 1).
| State | Label | What happens |
|---|---|---|
trial | Free trial (7 days) | Full access, $0 so far. Cancel during the trial and nothing is charged; otherwise the annual price is charged on day 7 and the 12-month term starts. |
active | Active | Paid for the current 12-month term. Full access. |
grace | Grace (7 days) | Renewal payment failed. Full access for 7 days. |
read_only | Read-only (to day 30) | Everyone can view, nobody can change, launch or command. |
locked | Locked | Term ended without renewal. Module hidden; data kept for 90 days, then deleted. |
How it plays out
- A module starts
activeafter checkout. - If payment fails or the period ends, it moves to
grace: everything still works for 7 days. - Then it becomes
read_onlyuntil day 30: everyone can look, nobody can change, launch or command. - After that it is
locked: the module disappears from the app. Data is kept for 90 days and then deleted.
New modules start locked, and a locked module cannot be switched on from the app. In the demo workspace, Compliance is locked to show this.
Prices for each tier are on the pricing page.
