Local database

Run against a local Supabase with sign-in and row-level security.

Local database mode runs the app against a real Postgres with the same rules as production: row-level security, triggers and check constraints. Use it to test access rules and the invariants.

You need Docker running for the local Supabase stack.

Start Supabase

pnpm db:start

Apply migrations and seed

pnpm db:reset
pnpm db:seed

db:reset rebuilds the schema from the migrations. db:seed writes the same Northwind story the demo uses, with one sign-in per person.

Start the app

pnpm local

The app runs on http://localhost:4300/app with DEMO_MODE=false.

Sign in as any seeded person, for example avery@northwind.test (owner). Every seeded person uses the same local password: skyward-local.

The password only exists in your local database. It is never used anywhere real.
