Connections
Vehicle bridges, video, maps, weather, airspace and AI. All mocked or planned in this build.
No external calls in this build
This build makes no external calls. No vehicle is contacted, no video is relayed, no map tiles or weather are fetched and no AI model is called. Every connection is either mocked (simulated locally with generated data) or planned (not built yet).
| Connection | Purpose | Status | Used by | Verify before launch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ROS 2 bridge | Commands and telemetry for yard trucks and robots | mock | Fleet, Maintenance | Message types, QoS profiles, transport auth (rosbridge or Zenoh) |
| PX4 / MAVLink | Drone telemetry and flight commands | mock | Fleet, Maintenance | Autopilot versions, mission protocol, signing |
| DJI Cloud API | Dock-based drones | planned | Fleet | SDK licence and API version |
| WebRTC video relay | Low-latency live camera | mock | Fleet | TURN provider, cost per hour, latency |
| Map tiles + imagery | Planner and geofence maps | mock | Missions, Safety | Provider licence and tile cost (MapLibre planned) |
| Weather forecast | Wind, gusts and rain for go/no-go | mock | Missions, Safety | Provider terms and rate limits |
| Airspace authorisation | LAANC / U-space status | planned | Missions, Safety, Compliance | Country rules and provider onboarding |
| AI models | Text, image, video, voice and transcription models from the catalog; the model is chosen per AI step | mock | Fleet, Missions, Maintenance, Safety, Compliance | Provider API keys, catalog prices (none verified yet), credit metering, prompt review |
What "mock" means
- Vehicle bridges (ROS 2, PX4 / MAVLink): commands become rows in a command queue and telemetry is simulated. Nothing leaves the machine.
- Video: the live view shows a procedurally drawn, animated camera scene.
- Maps: site maps are procedural SVGs, one per site. No third-party tiles.
- Weather: a seeded hourly forecast per site.
- AI: rule-based previews computed from the data. See AI features.
Before a real launch
Every row above has a "verify before launch" note. Each one must be checked and a real client built before SkywardOps talks to real vehicles or providers.
